Investment in Moxy
BuidlHodl Capital is excited to announce an investment in Moxy — a gaming platform that will enable the integration of blockchain technology with mainstream games, as well as improving upon the current Play-to-Earn (P2E) model by introducing their very own Play & Earn standard.
In recent years, the emergence of P2E games has undoubtedly been a thrilling development for both crypto natives and the gaming industry. However, most P2E games have left much to be desired; game economics often took precedence over and affected the overall gaming experience and were unsustainable in the long run.
As a gaming platform ‘by gamers, for gamers’, Moxy values the gameplay experience above all, and its Play & Earn standard will facilitate that alongside a ‘frictionless experience for gamers, developers and publishers’. Fundamental to Moxy’s Play & Earn paradigm is Proof of Play, an ecosystem-wide reward mechanism that incentivises participation and engagement. Players will simply accrue rewards as they interact with the Moxy ecosystem, such as playing games, participating in voting events and engaging with social media content.
Another key innovation within the Moxy ecosystem is the Moxy Vault (MV), a staking mechanism with the purpose of protecting against token volatility while still rewarding users. $MOXY tokens must be burnt in a 1:1 ratio to obtain MV tokens, and holders of MV will earn daily rewards in the form of $MOXY. As such, members are incentivised to hold as much MV tokens for as long as possible in order to derive greater $MOXY rewards.
Furthermore, through Moxy Forge — a feature-rich and standardised API stack — Moxy will enable game developers to incorporate Play & Earn features and blockchain elements to new and existing mainstream games across different PC, console and mobile platforms like Steam, iOS and Playstation. In other words, Forge positions Moxy as a one-stop platform for game developers and publishers to effectively add blockchain infrastructure and features to their products.

The Moxy team adds confidence to the success of the platform as it comprises of several heavyweights from the video gaming and entertainment industry, most notably Nolan Bushnell (Inventor of Pong, Founder of Atari), Lawrence Siegel (President of Atari), Stewart Bell (Co-Founder of MicroProse Games) and Tony Bickley (Head of Gaming, Konami EU).
