BuidlHodl Capital is thrilled to announce our investment in Unloc, a peer-to-peer (P2P) NFT borrowing and lending platform on the Solana ecosystem.
Without a doubt, 2021 was the year of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). It is evident that the NFT space has immense potential for innovation and growth. Unloc lies in the intersection of the two. As ownership of NFTs increase, there will be greater demand for ways to monetise one’s NFTs beyond the limitations of just buying and selling. Unloc does just that; the platform will provide NFT owners with innovative financial solutions for their assets, starting with a collateralised lending and borrowing market, while still retaining ownership of their NFTs. In essence, Unloc will ‘unlock’ the earning potential of NFT assets and give owners the benefit of real liquidity.
Unloc is also well-positioned to capture the growth of NFT activity by focusing on providing value to NFTs and building on the Solana ecosystem. At present, Solana is the third most active network by NFT sales volume, having surpassed $1.6 billion. Likewise, there are over 1.6 million wallet addresses that currently hold an NFT on Solana. This number is only expected to increase; developments like Opensea integrating the Solana network within its platform indicate positive sentiments for not only the wider NFT space, but also reflects validation and confidence of the NFT projects building on the Solana ecosystem.
